Swing Arm Locking Bolt - What the heck wrench did you use?

I purchased a 36mm flat spanner wrench for the height adjusting bolt on the swing arm, but am having trouble with the locking bolt. The bolt head appears to be 24mm, same as the nut, but all the 24mm wrenches seem to be too thick. I can't find a 24mm flat spanner.

How did you hold the locking bolt in place to get the nut on or off? I think it requires 87 lbs of torque.

thanks.

Or Grind a cheap one down to slide it in.

Or loosen the 4 end cap nuts out to about an 1/2", slide off the end caps, slide a standard 24MM in.

Torque is 61lbs for the eccentric bolt and 177lbs for the lock nut

Or go to your local bicycle shop. They will have the thin 24mm wrench you need.

Hi Draco,
Are you sure about the 61 LBS torque for the Height adjustment eccentric bolt? I don't have a Bentley. If so, I am going to have to ammend my notes (and check the torque for that bolt on my car) that I got on this forum during my searches. For some reason I thought both the Lock Bolt and Height Adjustment Bolts were both in the 180 LBS range.
Rearward, I think the toe eccentric bolt is 43LBS, Camber is 36LBS and the 2 Spring plate to swing arm bolts are 65LBS.

Per bentley, Yes.

Oh crap, if you did that to the eccentric, height bolt, you could have snapped it on your other Thread

177lbs only on one of the lock nut each side.

Toe and Camber is 61bls also

The two rear Lock nut (spring plate to swing arm bolts) are 87lbs.

Only the 4 END CAP bolts are 34lbs.

Jim

SHEEEEEEEIT! I updated my 1970 front and rear torsion bars, spring plates & bushings about a year ago with the adjustable spring plates, 22/27 TB's and Netrix bushings. My memory is not what it used to be and/or my notes are Fuched up because I just went out to the garage with my torque wrench and that fancy skinny 24/36 wrench and the torque wrench clicked at 65LB setting and did not click at 75 LBS so I guess all is good! Thanks!
