What is this??

I have found this item under my gearbox (901) - Im rebuilding some stuff - and I have no idea what its for... I suspect its something for the clutch/cable... any of you guys have a clue.

Thanks

It measures about 13mm in height - see pen for sizing

This is actually the best replacement for the early 901 ‘plastic piece’. It is a late 914 part.

When used, grind a bit off the arm so this piece doesn’t contact the arm in its normal arc.
Yours is worn. Replace it with new and add a touch of grease. Inspect your arm for wear.

Every 901 & 914 should use this piece.
I have this on all my 911s and 914-6s.

Best,
Grady

Jon,

You are the best and everlasting purest of detail.

Thank you.

You should be curator of some significant Porsche Museum.

Best,
Grady

Jon,

Carl and I became frends when he worked for Arnold Wagner (ANDIAL), Parts Manager at Vasek Polak P+A.

Only a few years ago.

Best,

Grady, it's so true, everything was only a few years ago, sorta. I think we've hijacked Soren's thread- if he'd used an appropriate pen, none of this would've happened.
