Bottom line guys, can I run a 30% mix of toulene in a CIS euro 930 with an Andial fuel enrichment kit without adverse side effects? Can it be used daily? Would you do it?

I am hoping that this means I can go up to 1.2bar boost on a car with the usual bolt ons like k29 turbo, i/c, headers plus 965 S cams and head porting. I'm too chicken to go over 0.9 bar on pump gas and race gas is a pain in the wallet. Should I retard the timing a couple of degrees as well?

Hello

Well I was thinking about a knock sensor integratet into the system so first step would be if knok ist detectet that the additonal high octane tuloene is mixed into the plenum and if the knok still occurs the ignition get retardet or the boost level lowered by bypassing on the intake side ( 951 ). Now this would be the most elegant solution.

Adding the knock sensor is the hard point so the best base engine would be a 3,6.
As far I remeber you have a 3,2 base engine.

Adding the 7th injector is simple just look if you can find a adaptor plate that can be screwed under the throttle body are go to the simple Mustang 5,0 EFI Factory NOx solution ( 1986 ?).

An other idear would be to messure the cylinderheadtemperature of each cylinder to avoid pinging so you could run the system following the hottest cylinder. Or use a lambda sond at each exhaust port to read the mixture. Maybe one at each bank will be enough.

Well had been 91 at Haltech in Austin or San Antonio ( Didn´t know they where australians they looked like typical Texas guys ). I think there system is very capable and flexible enough to ad more channels.

Grüsse

Thanks Grüsse, Texas is the US distributors, the company is in Aus. I like your idea of using the 7th injector for delivering the mix at the onset of pining. I could use the auxilary input function and then program the delivery. However, do knock sensors really work on these motors? I can't see how they could decifer knock from the natural noises of these motors. I know some of the later engines have them but I'm not that familiar with them. If they are really accurate, do they screw into the cylinder heads?

The 7th injector is used as a gross version of the dual injector setup that I referred to earlier. Adding knock sensors from a N/A 3.6 motor has got to be a big pain. I believe Stephan at ImagineAuto did this with his 3.6tt engine, give him a holler.

You might consider having the 7th injector function under pre-set conditions, such as intake temp, boost level, etc. A stand alone or piggyback system must have a sepparate fuel system as well if you wish to shoot in high octane fuel. This starts to get complicated, but it would be a much better system than to wait for the ping and then shoot in the octane.

These types of systems have been used with nitrous for a long time. Having a dedicated high octane fuel system offers obvious insurance for high dollar motors. My drag racing buddies used Av gas or tubo blue in the auxillary tank. Because you don't use the 7th injector very often I wouldn't recommend straight toluene. A mixed fuel with stabilizer might be better (accept for Juan - he needs to run nitromethane all the time, HA!)
