Post adding second outlet to 3.2 factory muffler

I have a factory muffler that's in excellent shape and would like to modify it. Looks like stainless steel? I've seen posts with diagrams about modifying mufflers to look like pre-74 in the middle dual outlets. But none for adding second outlet at other end for suasage-like muffler. Do you just cut new opening? Do you open up muffler and rework baffles? This question is specific to 3.2 mufflers. Bruce Anderson states that the internals were modified for '84 and up resulting in 10% better flow.
Does this create resonance? Is it too loud(trouble listening to passenger)?
Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up

I have a friend who did this and had quite good results. There "probably" is an increase in power or at least throttle response, But it definitely looks and sounds good. They used a 2.5" hole saw to make the cut then spot welded another oulet on and had a muffler shop weld it on for real. He had to cut out part of his rear valance to accomodate the mod, using a slightly larger hole saw, I think, and then a bit of touch up paint to finish it off. I'm going to recruit him to help me do this to mine.
best luck

Is there no internal modifications needed? I want equal flow to both sides if possible.

I am the first person to try to do something myself, but I have seen these for less then $300 for non stainless Dansk dual outlets.

There is a little known internet based parts house, who has these for $290. http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_exhaus_pg2.htm

Does anyone know how the 1 in 2 out Dansk sounds on a stock SC?

Tom
