HOW MANY AIR COOLED PORSCHES HAVE YOU OWNED (so far) ????
and What year did you get your 1st one ???

Come on now...this isn't for the wizbang doodle "dealers" & "Flippers"...just regular guys (and gals) that bought 'um, drove 'um and then passed them on, to get yet another. That owned 'um for love, not for profit.

4 in my first year and this month would be the completion of my 1st year. One of them was a part out, but I did get it to run and drive...A little cheating, but I did have title. Previously it was old vettes (64 and 74) and mustangs for me.

I have had 12 since 1997. The first 911 I owned was also the one. I must admit I have a passion for cars and have had 47 since I started driving 20 years ago.

I just enjoy different cars for different days.

In the beginning, a 1976 914 for about 4 years.

Afterwards....a 1973 911 for the past 20 years.

Let's see: Started with P-cars in the mid 70's thru the mid 80's. Took several years off then got the P-bug again about 3 years ago resulting in an 80SC which underwent a total restoration finished 6 months ago.( Story and pics will follow soon). Here's the approximate chronology:
1974 - '74 914 2.0 Ex-wife got car in divorce settlement. (Less tires!)
1976 - '73 914 1.8 Flipped
1978 - '68 911 Flipped
1978 - '70 911S Sold in mid-80's for $6000
1979 - '70 914-6 (2) Flipped one for $3000. Sold other mid-80s for $6500.
1980 - '52 356 Stolen/vanished after resto/body shop went belly up.
1981 - '58 356 Flipped
2008 - '80 911SC, restoration completed Oct. 2010. Ain't flipping this baby!!

I am on my 9th Porsche, and my first aircooled car. Purchased my first car in 2000, and had 8 different cars in the garage before I moved to NYC in 2004, shortly after moving back to NC last year car number 9 graced the garage. Couldn't believe I went 6 years without owning a car.

I think the order went something like this:
1988 944 Turbo - Black / Burgundy - Burned to the ground due to an engine fire
1986 944 Turbo - Black / Black - Swapped most of the parts to car the next car, when I traded with a friend
1986 944 Turbo - Red / Black
1987 944 Turbo - Grey / Tan
1992 968 - Amazon / Tan
1987 924S - Red / Black
1986 944 Turbo - Burgundy / Tan
1983 911SC - Black / Black

Since 1974 I have owned three cars. I still own two of them.
