proper cam nut spec...

Hello all. What is the correct cam nut (1974) torque spec? Ive seen it at 110 ft/lbs and 71 ft/lbs. I double checked the 71 ft/lbs spec and it is for the earlier nut and not the bolt type of early 80's.

I believe the B.A. reference at 110 ft/lbs, but want to make sure!

Thanks again

Chris

Anybody????

Another question that is related to the previous one. Since a crowfoot is used, that spaces the torque wrench offset about 1.5 inches resulting in increased leverage. Do the torque figures have to be reduced because of this? there is a formula that came with the snap-on torque wrench to figure this out. Am I reading into this too much? I have a tendency to do that from time to time

Thanks again!

Chris

Per the factory service manual page revised 1 March 1967, the nut spec is 10.0 mkp or 72.3 lb-ft. Using the 'adapter formula' for the crowfoot wrench is probably a good idea!
