Porsche Crest Battery Size/Type

I have a 77 911 w/2.7. What size battery (i.e. cold cranking amps) is best for my car? I am leaning toward the optima battery, but not sure which one.

Cool

Don't get Optima deep cycle on a street/track 911. Need a mounting bracket. I needed new ground cable. I believe there are better and smaller ones out there.

The battery of choice at least among SC owners seems to be the Interstate, in no small part because of their excellent guarantee, which is an advantage to owners who, say, store their car for the winter and don't do their battery any good by deep-cycling it.

If interstate is a good brand which model is prefered? Again, how many cold cranking amps is enough?

Cool

I would get the minimum CCA necessary. The lower the CCA the thicker the battery internal plates. Interstate does have a big following.

I've been quite happy with Optoma in our Detroit rigs. The mounting tray in my wife's '99 Ranger was too small for a standard optima. We discovered that Optima makes a smaller model, designed to fit Corvette. It fit her Ranger well. If you'd like to check it out, it has 720CCA, and is model #75/35-926.
