Eternal ?: Tire sizes on 7 & 9 16in Fuchs

ok guys, I tired Tire Rack and searches on the board:

I need new rubber on my 79 930 with above wheel sizes. I've had Michelin Sports, SO2s and Dunlops in 225/50 205/50 and rear 245/45 sizes. I really like the SO2's out of this group. I would like to try to stretch the rear to 265 or even 275. I realize the understeer problem but can adjust my sways to compensate somewhat. Car is used for some DE's and 1/2 week driving.

Kumho's V700 are available in 265/45. Others only 245. If 245 is the way to go, I'll probably try the SO3's. I'm keeping the Fuchs as the combo looks great against the silver. I have plenty of room under the fenders. Thanks for the input as always.

You can easily put 275's on a 9" wheel, I did it with Hoosiers all the time. I put 245's on my 8's. 265 should work fine as well.

As for S02's or 3's? Both are great.

Kumho's? Depends on what tire. The v700 is really track tire
and won't last 5000-6000 miles IMHO...

FWIW - Don’t count on Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct to list all the sizes that a particular tire comes in. In my experience, they only show what they stock in the warehouse.

I'd check the manufacturer’s websites to see all the size options for a particular tire.

A week or so ago I did a post on 16" Fuchs. After some researching I found there are damned near no good sizes available for those wheels. Nothing at all above a 265 section width. Years ago there was a 315 available, but the aspect ratio was too high. They no longer make it anyway.
The availability market is shrinking with the advent of the ever stupid 20+ inch rims.
So - if you've got wide 16 inchers you might consider selling them now.
