Jerry,
Because you're using the '72 tank, the early S plumbing in that other thread really won't be relavent to your case. Your challenge will be mating up the through-rocker pipe to the bottom of the '72 tank. It's always a very short hose, and in your case your through-rocker line is starting a couple inches higher than the normal '72 pipe. You will need to be creative here.

Chuck;
i *think* there is just enough room for an elbow & a straight to fit between those 2 points. you're right about the factory setup. totally different. thanks! jerry |

Jerry,
I started to post these images on EarlyS but Alan’s images are great. wanted: pix of early S oil line routing Here are the images from the ’70-’71 911 parts manual: ![]() © 1968 Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche K.G. ![]() © 1968 Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche K.G. ![]() © 1968 Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche K.G. Alan, it would be useful for you to post your excellent images here also. Now we need images of the pipes out of the chassis. The thermostat and pressure relief valve were commercially available at the time (’69-’71) parts. These are some of the special pieces that make a ’69-’71 911S an “S”. Best, Grady One of the reasons I didn’t post these on EarlyS is my inability (dumb ol’ me) to alternate text and images. G.

Jerry,
Here's a thread I posted with detailed pics/description of my ER install on my '72 coupe. Not through-the-body lines, but you get the idea. '72 Carrera oil cooler install pics - Elephant Racing kit
