New guy typical questions lol
Hello all. Awesome site. I just bought my first porsche its a 91 targa. Ive had it for about a week and I love it. The car has 120,000 miles and the motor has 9000 on it. When it was rebuilt the owner also put a bigger cam in it, exhaust, and sent the computer off and had it tuned. These cars are amazing and its just a blast to drive. My questions are 1, what are these things able to rev to safely? It seems to come to life around 4000 rpms and up. Also I plan on road racing the car and what rpms should I keep it at on the track? From 4000 up? Also the center vents on my dash doesnt blow ac out. I read about the motors on the firewall. Where can I find these to purchase? Or should I just clean them and see if that does the trick? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys, Mark

Welcome to Pelican.
You may want to post specific questions in the 964/993 forum. There are guys there that know those years very well. Also, post some pics when you get a chance.

You can buy the factory manuals still, either used at swapmeets or ebay, or new from Porsche. There will be a lot of useful information, including the torque curve, shift points, instructions on operating the ventilation, and a ton of other stuff.
