Paint Rear Grill????

Does any one know if you can paint the rear engine vent grill. Mine is looking faded and was wondering if I can repaint it and if so what kind of paint?

Mother's Back to Black or similar product

Apply it with toothbrush or other small brush. Will last for many months in my experience.

Mother's Back to Black

I was assuming we were talking about a plastic grill.

There's many different kinds of spray paints designed esp for use on plastics.

Don't think self etching is a factor when painting on plastic.

Paint can peel off these pretty easily.

And, if you paint, you really need to remove the grille.

The 'Back to Black' works great, actually, and if the car is garaged will last indefinitely. Back to Black can be used 'in situ'.

I used Rustoleum satin black 5 years ago and it still looks great. Use a primer first.

I have just been doing mine with the back to black yesterday and today, multiple coats. It is starting to look real good. It was very thirsty.

It looks like Krylon has a special spray paint called Fusion which is made for plastic. They say to clean part with an ammonia based cleaner dry the paint. Dry to touch 1 hour fully cured 7 days.

Y'know, it could be unique, not to mention really cool, if you painted the rear grille body color!
