rear end height
Time for spring cleaning, my 77" 911 is lower on the left side than the right!! could this have happened during an alignement?

How much lower?
Some of us have anywhere from 1/4' to 3/4" difference. If the torsion bars are indexed evenly and still a sag on one side, it can't be helped unless a body re-alignment. Raising one side will also raise the other and through off the corner balance severely

It is low enough that I can hear it hitting the tire on some turns! I replaced the tie rods recently and had it aligned and noticed it after that

I just finish this project with a group of upgrades to my suspension; along with dealing with 16" and 17" rims changes back and forth. It seems that many of our cars are off a little. First did you local shop work on it last or some tire shop? I would take it to a good shop have them check the shocks and bushing and then re-index the torsion bars. Has anyone adjusted the sway bars for any reason during this issue? Finally once you have it right and it holds height, then have the car corner balanced and your ready to go.

I can imagine the shop messing with the ride height in the back, it is a complete nightmare. +1 check on the strut, place a knee on the bumper and bounce it, it should settle quickly, if it continues to bounce then maybe it is the strut.

I have had my car corner balanced by Rothsport Road and Race and one side is 3/8" higher than the other when parked in my garage. The cross weights are spot on. When I asked, I was told I get to choose, a flat car or proper corner balancing. Which do you think we would choose?
If your car is off by a smidge and it drives/handles fine, don't mess with sucess.

I would probably check for a blown shock first. Sadly i don't work on these cars for a living so i had to remove them to confirm good or bad. A bad gas shock installed may not feel bad by shaking the car up and down on that side to the weekend wrench.

Lift the car with a floorjack to get the two sides even. Then just drive it for awhile to see if it's just sticking or if you have a real problem. Don't jump the gun and start to panic.

commonly used is the HD Bilsteins all around, which is how i use them
some guys use the HD up front and the stronger Sport on the rear for street driving and on the track

I think Sports are too bumpy for the street, thus inspiring less confidence.

Johnsons Alignment highly recommends HD fronts and Sport Rears. Which I have. I asked Steve Alarcon about swapping fronts for Sports and he said for my once in awhile track time stick with what I have.

I installed new Bilstiens and had a reputable shop do the alignment. Will take a look this afternoon. Thanks, Dave

I just checked the height differences in my garage and they are equal?? 6 3/4 inches from top of tire to fender (inner). Could the tires be the problem with the hitting on corners. They are 195/65 R 15. I got them because I live on a gravel road in the mountains, but didn't really like them from day one. Thanks, Dave

Maybe but hopefully maybe the alignment shop may have put too much positive camber in the rear too. Did they give you a print out of the before and after readings? If legit shop they would have. I recall prior to my alignment my rear driver side was 0 camber and when I would back out of a slanted drive way she would rub and one time with a passenger in the back fender cut into the tire  My Tires were wide to start with.

low rear end
Just found the alignment report. Lots of info. Rear camber left -1.41, right, -1.29, toe -0.02, left, and0.10 on the right. Thrust angle-0.13. Cant get a photo today. I was wondering if a lower profile tire would help or raising both sides might work, if it isn"t already raised? Thanks, Dave
