Quick question, removing front control arms/wishbones
Car is a 74. Front control arm bearings are removed at the front and the torsion bar is out. Everything else removed. Pulling forward on the control arm isn't getting me any movement. Does one or more of the bolts holding the front suspension crossmember (that the control arm slides into) need to come out, or is just a matter of pulling harder? Thanks, Jim

sway bar off? ball joint off? - that's about it.
easier if you pull the whole rear bearing housing off, the rubber bushing might be really stuck to the housing ...Bill K

Thanks Bill. Is the rear bearing housing held by the 19mm that goes up thru the stabilizer bar/cross member? Looks like it is. But even with it out nothing's moving. Guess it's really stuck. Jim

can't say about the 19mm without crawling under one of the cars. Have you tried to free it up by jouncing up and down, rather that pulling forward. Up and down, and a good bit of penetrating oil might do it (as long as you plan on replacing the bushings). For my 73 I actually used a come-along around a tree to keep pulling pressure on it while I moved it up and down, that was the hard way - easy way is to remove the housing.

Big long bolt
I had the same issue and that big long 19 mm bolt needs to come out along with the 17s

Eureka! It's out. Long 19mm released it. If I'd never looked at Haynes I'd have been better off. Just a lot of wiggling and wd40. Thanks guys, JIm

At the rear. It secures the rear cross member and the rear torsion bar mount at the same time.
