i have a 84 carrera which is slowly filling up with rain water on the drivers side it is running into the car from under the electric window switch how come ? on the passangers side its just filling up. can anybody please give me help as to were it maybe coming in and how to stop it many thanks

How are your seals on the drivers roll-up window and quarter window?

I have found the 911s (third in my family) usually leak in the lower corners of the windshields. But this probably does not apply.

The wires from the window switch should have a rubber sleeve/gaitor which covers them, Sometimes this slips down the wires and allows water in. If you remove your door panel (even just the top rail and pull the top back from the door) you can check this. The rubber sould come in with the wires through the hole in the door.

I've got a 71 T Coupe (no sunroof) and it also fills up with water everytime it rains, but I haven't figured where it leaks from. In fact its so bad I keep a car cover in the trunk in case it rains!

Do something urgent to protect your DME under the seat, they hate getting wet!

There are hundreds of places water can get in. Window, door & sunroof seals being some of the most common. A slightly stanger one I had flooded the passenger side (RHD car) floor. It turned out that the rubber seal that goes around the fuel filler was missing and road water was leaking in through the gap into the front luggage compartment and down the heating tubes and into the footwell.
I guess you should try and narrow down the wetter areas and soak the car with a jet wash, while someone sits inside looking for drips.
