226mm twins and their cousins

Having four 226mm fans in for rehabilitation at the same time is rare, so I
thought I'd better snap a pic of them together. I think the twins enjoyed
being reunited with their cousins.

Information on fan/housing restoration email me at: mots356@yahoo.com
or phone: 949.463.2892

Mark! Beautiful work (although secretly, I really like those red enamel ones from MM ).

Curt, very amusing. Careful with those MM initials, could apply to me also!
When are you coming out again ? Seems like it's been awhile. Actually, it's
been quite awhile.

Mark (the good MM)

I see two different types here: big holes and small holes (though more).

Are the big hole ones from earlier motors, where you held the assembly (with outer pulley half and fan belt attached) in place to torque the nut with a tool with two rods sticking out of it? The rods fitting into the holes on the outer half and then into the holes on the inner/fan part also?

And small holes for later outer pulleys which had a notch on their edge to take a spanner to hold things?

Or the other way around - small holes early?

On my track car's alternator fan the outer holes don't line up with the inners, so it is a chore to use the tool to hold things in place. I'd be inclined to switch to an outer half with a notch, but those weigh a bit more.

Walt
