Porsche Crest Porsche 911 owner intro

My dad told me "If you fix it, you can have it". I don't think he expected me to take him up on that offer but honestly who wouldn't? I was 16 years old when i got the car, I am 17 almost 18 now, and my dad has told me that I won't get any birthday presents or graduation gifts because I got this, and I am more than ok with that!

Its a 1978 Porsche 911 sc converted to a turbo look by Kremer Racing in Germany. It was looking pretty bad, never having been in a garage and not properly maintained. There was a lot of rust issues and the paint had permanent black smudges and marks everywhere. The 170,000 mile engine was done and in need of a rebuild and the transsmission was even worse.

I have spent about a year on this car and it has come a long way but there is still much more to do. Here is some of what has been done.

-23,000 miles 1984 carrera engine and transsmission was put in
-All new clutch
- New and upgraded suspension system, shocks and coil overs
-New Windshield
- New dash
-New door panels
- New reflector, lenses, gaskets all around
-Fixed and cleaned guages
-Floor mats
-New turbo tail
-New paint of course
and much much more.

The hardest part of this project is having my dad put the car in my name, he wants it back now because it looks just like it did when he was young, and I can't blame him for that one.

There is a lot more I have to do to the car but please, any criticism, comments, advice, opinions are all welcome. I would love to know what everyone thinks and how to improve this car even more.

A special thanks goes out to Pelican Parts and all the people who have helped me and sold me parts here on Pelican. This project would have been a lot more difficult without this website.

Thanks to all,
Nick

Nice job cleaning it up. Is it running well now? You could be nice to your Dad and offer to let him drive it once in a while:-)

Great car and it looks like your on the road to an outstanding car.
(Looks like you could use some spacers on the rear to fill out those 930 flairs)
Keep us informed on your progress!
