996/930 rear caliper/rotor question

I'm working on getting adaptors made to mount 996 rear calipers on the rear of my 77 930. My question is can I use the Carrera 4 89-94 *299x24 *rear rotor on my 77?

I would like to retain the e-brake and won't be able to with the 996 rear rotor.

Thanks

Actually they are regular 996 rear calipers which use the same size rear rotor as the 89-94 Carrera 4 *299x24.

Here's a link to the calipers I have - Porsche 996 Brembo rear brake calipers - eBay (item 180626582028 end time Feb-15-11 18:24:35 PST)

The original e-brake works ok with 996 rear rotors too.
The brake shoe comes out from drum about 2mm, but it doesnt affect the braking force that much.
Seen here:

Just buy the adaptors from Finland

Why not? I have 996 rear rotors and calipers on my '77. The rotor drops right on, need to drill a hole in the hat to access the adjuster, just a small amount of e-brake shoe not engaged. But still perfectly usable as a parking brake.

The calipers and adapters take a little more work, least on my trailing arms. But they fit.

Consider talking to Instant-G about their kit - that's what I used. If you already have calipers, they're happy to supply just adapters and fasteners and/or custom front hub (lets you use the stock 996 front rotor). Then the calipers are working with the rotors they were designed to use - and a set of 4 of those is $200 drop-shipped..

You can interchangeably use 911 '69-83 rears(290x24) 911 '84-89 rears (290x24) and 930 rears (309x28)

what to use depends on what's in front

964 rear(299x24) and 993 rear(299x24) have different o/s from each other and from 911

from left here are 993 rear, 996 rear and 911 rear

I've never tried to fit a 996 rear on a 911 but If these guys say 996 rears(299x24) work, I believe them probably Boxster rear 292x20 fit too.

Obviously each has a different o/s and diameter and so the caliper adapters would need to be different
