2.8 RSR Evocation - the begin of the end
We have just one life................. and it's like i want to begin my narrative.
I make the presentation, My Name is Christophe , I'm french (so please excuses the lot of mistake i will do in my narrative). It's a long time i read all your post and especially the post for réplica RS , RSR .... Jack Olsen is one of my inspirer, but lots of another fellow too, cnielsen, edesign45, jjwood. Special salutation for my friend Bill in Washington with is wide body conversion, (when you want for another French BBQ In France) I be back, to my history so like i said, We have just one single life and it is very short, then it is necessary to take pleasure and realize our dream. My first dream of Porsche I live it three years ago by the purchase of Froggy, a beautiful yellow 2.7 (who came from USA) begin after a beautiful 2.7 Grey Atlas, this change of color having make debate in French forum in his time.. A big work had been made with change of some parts of sheet steel, complete cleaning of the inside but some gaps existed which will be erased this time this. Memories: http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/7026/ima7.jpg http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/5524/ima8.jpg http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/9821/ima15.jpg http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/984/ima37.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/2971/ima45h.jpg and finally i have driving with "My Porsche" http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/3497/froggy.jpg Nevertheless my dream was not complete, I continued to dream about the icone, about the 2.8RSR. The real? Let us forget, less than 50 produced copies, astronomical price... The replica, the evocation , to be able to roll little as in the real .......... For it were needed some things: A base, a few money, time, the courage, and the stomac to launch the project. I had everything, but I had especially a dilemma, it was necessary to sell "Froggy" to buy one new base. But "Froggy" I knew her, I knew what I left. A new base, I would have been able to Met by unpleasant surprises. Then the decision fell, I would leave "Froggy", and thus on January 1st, 2011, I begin the Project. This project will spend lots month or years, i will work by stage, the first the Look, second all Rolling train and brake, third the engine Bought for today: Carpet RS Light Gris Perlon Bucket seats classic Stealing Momo Prototipo + Hub Door panel RS Handle RS 73 Front 2.8 rsr bumper Wheel rims Fuchs 7/16 ( ET23.3) and 9/16 ( ET15) and tyres before Length Hood Ducktail before Flashing in wings Complete body, joints, mirror. Rear steel Extensions wings Burn(Blow) out wings before rear and Front steel Attach hood Gas cap RSR Grey strip Carrera Badge Porsche hood sticker blanck from deletion clock RS chrome-plated windscreen Chrome-plated rectangular mirrors windows and rear quarter panels chrome-plated Handles chrome-plated door rear window Chrome-plated Lighthouses before chrome-plated Remain to buy: Rear 2.8 rsr bumper complete poly 2.8 RSR Wings fronts Rear Red reflector of bumper More all which come to add according to the progress. I don't speak about all nights on the internet, to create my price data sheet, for every part. To scrutinize "le bon coin" French announcement website, or Ebay in search of the second-hand part which would allow to reduce the bill. The long nights of study on such or such part, the type of seat..... |
But it was also necessary to begin the dismantling.
http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/992/img4569j.jpg http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/7994/img4572l.jpg http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/4295/img4571j.jpg Then sell parts, to complete the stake of departure for the purchase of the new parts. Quite slowly I accumulated parts. http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/618/jante3.jpg http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/8518/dsc00911y.jpg http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/3452/9750129374.jpg http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/2900/img4623u.jpg http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/5466/1004380f.jpg http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/7970/siege2t.jpg |
