Need ignition help

I have an 82sc with a permatune unit, but have a coil. The car ran ok, but missed slightly. Yesterday, I replaced my Behru connectors with new ones. Tried to start the car and "No Fire" anyware. Did nothing else. anyone have any ideas, did I knock something loose? HEKP

You probably put the spark plug wires in the wrong holes in the distributor cap ... turn the engine over manually to TDC # 1 and start with #1 again.

Or, maybe you knocked the green cable that carries the trigger signal to the CDI/Permatune unit loose. Be very careful, as the connecyor for the green cable is fragile after years of exposure to engine heat!

Warren,

I only change out the connectors at the spark plug end.

Where does the green trigger wire run? I presume it connects to the coil. thanks for the quick reply

Pull the HT lead off of the Dist cap and hold it no more than 4 mm from ground. While turning over the engine, it should spark. If it doesn't, go to http://www.permatune.com/Technical%20Support/Porsche/911.htm and perform the checks for the cds unit and coil. Like the previous posts stated, check for loose and/or corroded wires as well.

The green cable runs from the large magnetic pickup assembly around the distributor body to the CDI/Permatune unit.
