Carfax request

I'm trying to get a carfax report on a 82 coupe.

WP0AA0918CS121977

Problem is none of the online providers will take a foreign credit card. Can anyone please help?

I'm placing a deposit on Monday

Thanks!

Tore

Bozo No No on this list....considered a theft of services....

They are wildly inaccurate anyways.

I agree with Pleco - get a good PPI. Carfax sucks.

A few years ago, my wife got in an accident in our 99 Jetta TDi. When we took it to the bodyshop to get it fixed, they said "don't worry, we don't report to carfax".

And -not like it's been a rental or fleet vehicle.

Don't trust them. A good independent shop will give you a better indication than Carfax.

Get a PPI and carfax!
Keep asking-somebody will help you-I don't presently have an open account with them if I did I would help. "Theft of service" is the biggest load of bollox I ever heard.

Well, that "bollox" happens to be Wayne's bolox. As in Wayne Dempsey, the CEO of PelicanParts and our friendly host DOES NOT ALLOW ASKING FOR CARFAX ON HIS FORUM....

He might not like you going against forum rules like you do. I would tread lightly.

Thanks for the replies. I did not intend to steal any service but understand how it looks. I got the PPI and bought the car. Thanks for the advice.

Congratulation on your purchase. Like some mentioned Carfax is a crap shoot. I got lucky on mine and provided me with a track from day one, way back in 1983.

You can actualy go to CARFAX - Vehicle History Reports and VIN number check and get a free preview on your VIN. It will tell you how many "event" they got recorded. In your case the result is:

VIN: WP0AA0918CS121977
Vehicle: 1982 PORSCHE 911
Records: 24 records found in the CARFAX Vehicle History database

To find out what was the option on your car, you can go to Auto Atlanta - Porsche Parts and Accessories

For your car, here is the result:

Model year: 1982
Model ID:
Engine Code KW HP Liter Cylinders Model
930.16 132 179 3,00 6 911 SC (USA)(CDN)

Transmission Code: 915.63

Options found on your vehicle.
Option Code Description

The following codes were found, but the description may not be accurate.
Option Code Possible Description

M027 Version for California

M395 Light-alloy rims, forged front 6J x 16 with tyres 205/55 VR16 rear 7J x 16 with tyres 225/50 VR16
Light-alloy rims, forged, 16-inch
Light-alloy rims, forged 6J x 16 with tyres 205/55 VR16
Forged wheels, silver colored anodized, rim 7J x 16 tyres 225/50 VR 16
Cast wheel, 16-inch

M454 Automatic speed control

M474 Shock absorber (sporting), front and rear

M476 Porsche Stability Management (PSM)

M484 Symbols and lettering for switches and instruments
Version for USA

M566 Front fog lights, white

M650 Electrical sliding roof
Detachable roof, electrical
Detachable roof, elctrical

Don't worry too much about the "boo boo", with your posting numbers, its understandable.

Have Fun

PS: Start a new thread to introduce yourself but mainly to introduce you car with lots of photos

JJ,

Thanks allot for taking the time checking the details you did. I now have to ask if you, or anyone else, know what the M027 Version for California code entails?

This is my first 911 and I haven't even seen it yet. Risky I know, however I had someone I trust inspect it and had several good conversations with the previous owner who is also a member here. Its now in a friends garage, I'll see it for the first time in a couple of weeks when I go to CA on vacation.

I'll have some photos posted then.

Thanks again!

Tore

My pleasure.

Well Google and PP search did not return anything describing M027 option...

There is your next thread. Title it: California option M027, what is it? and you should get some answer.

I'm quite sure that its related to the pollution control.

Enjoy your trip to sunny California

Yeah, but I like to annoy the French and New Yorkers.....it's a bad habit on off topic......

My humor is an...... acquired taste.

JJ,

I took your thread title and ran with it. I could not find any explaination for the M027 either.

M027 means the car fulfilled Califoria´s Exhaust emmissions regulations. I think it was section 255. It meant the car came with a Cat and a rubber support for around the gasfillercap
