Very cool. Nice driving. The GTR should have been so much faster. The 911 driver was smooth and fast. Great vid.

Great video. Thanks

That 74 911 was featured in 911 Porsche world some time ago.
Not too shabby considering the age and power difference between the two cars.

And note that car has a 915 gearbox in it with and external cooler. That shows you how good a 915 gearbox can be.

Just goes to show how much easier it is to follow than to lead on a road you don't know.

Considering there were only 6 RHD RS 3.0's ever built , i highly doubt it.

Not impossible that a RHD car would end up in Australia where they drive on the LHS of the road. I seem to remember seeing pictures of a red 3.0 RS that was in Oz. As far as rarity, isn't Walter Rohrl driving a factory SC rally car in the same event that is effectively one of one built?

Rex's car was originally a 74 Aust delivered 911S. Now has a 330 hp 3.4 built from a 3.0 SC engine. Webers, Garrett camshafts etc. Still has 915 with rally-oriented ratios for weight saving.

Rex has been developing that car since for in excess of a decade and he can drive. The best part is a new car versus a 35 year old car is still insight after six minutes of going hammer and tong on closed roads.

The nissan is driven by an ex carrera cup racer who has had some pretty good results in the modern section of Targa so he can drive as well.

I would suggest that porsches rock no matter how old

Michael
