Imitation is the finest form.....
of flattery.
![]() I know, I know, it's not "technical" but it kinda IS in an artistic kinda way, and it IS a Porsche ![]() Someone had a painting like this for sale awhile back. I asked if they were every going to make prints. Never heard back so I decided to make my own. It's huge! 5'x4' canvas. Now that it's done I don't know where itll go, most likely the garage, my wife doesn't share the same affinity for sprots cars ![]() ![]()

Will, I'm jealous!!!
RWebb, How close do you want? I have some fine touches still left to do. Also, the original had "Redman / Siffert - Porsche 917" running under the 1970, which I'm still considering. I think it might be too busy looking with that but, those boys deserve their props ![]() Joe Bob, I'm being persuaded to put it in the mens room of the business I own but I think it'll be too big sp it'll likely end up in the mancave ![]() |

Ah, I get it now.
Give me a bit and I'll take a pic with it cropped and lit properly. Thanks for the compliments, we "artists" are so insecure ![]() I would first and foremost like to make it very clear this is NOT my concept, I want to say the real artists name is Hunziker? I was just so taken by the original that I had to have one so I just did my best to do so. I don't feel comfortable putting my name on someone else's concept. I don't have a portfolio but I had so much fun doing this one ( it's like a meditation, an hour os so would go by and it would seem like I'd only been painting 10 mins) that Im planning one of a Ferrari F1 car as well as one of my car. It's a long process but it's is fun ![]()

Great work, I saw this artist's work at Laguna last year. They are very striking. I would be a little careful as to what I post on here though, even though you do give the artist credit - they might not be too happy for you to scan this and provide it for someone else. I had thought about a similar project for my garage using a Tim Laysall painting. I would then use a slide projector to shine the image on my wall and then trace and paint with solid colors. Maybe one day I'll get around to it.

Thanks Matt.
I get what you're saying about the original artist possibly not liking it but I'm certinaly not trying to represent his work as mine, make ANY money off his work or benefit from it in any way. That said his work, and that of many others is right here on the world wide web for all to cut and paste. Most artists that attempt to protect their work do it with some kind of watermark on the image. I sure hope he doesn't mind. Original ![]() Memorex ![]() I'll post the pic for those who want to use it as a screen saver. I sincerely doubt anyone would be able to scan it and get any kind of usable image, the resolution just isn't there. And most places that do that kind of work won't do it without the artists consent.

I have a T shirt with that design. Shaun (Shaun 84 Targa) made a few a couple of years ago.

Yup. The original design is from Nicolas Hunziker.
[QUOTE=Shaun 84 Targa;4588256]As some here know, I make clothing for boys and always run a racing theme each season, having the great fortune to work with a few talented Pelicans helping with design. I'm always getting requests for adult versions of our Ts and therefore am starting to offer Porsche-inspired artwork for us all in men's sizes. Working with artist Nicolas Hunziker, we've taken one of his paintings, a tribute to the Redman/Siffert 917 raced at Spa in 1970, and translated it to a medium gray lightweight, 100% cotton T. Here is the original painting. ![]() and here is the shirt, shown in men's size large. Note that this is a test shirt and production shirts will pop with the Gulf colors. ![]() You can see more of Nicolas' work here: nicolashunziker.com I'm also offering a '56 Speedster in 3 colors. 2 of the shirts, Mustard and Spruce are pigment dyed for that washed and worn in look. I added a basic T in desert sage as the navy ink really pops on these lighter colors. All three are men's size XL. ![]() '56 Speedster & '70 917 T-shirts

I bought one of those shirts from Shaun for my son. Great print and a good quality shirt. Please do not post anything here that could be reproduced as a salable thing. The original artist may come after you. Painting your own copy for your private use seems cool. I think Mr. Hunziker sells posters at a reasonable price for those of us that are not as artistically gifted as you.
