3.6 Conversion Wannabe

Ready to join the 3.6 conversion bunch, but having difficulty finding a reasonable engine. Where/how to look? How to lower risk of buying a worn-out, bad motor, especially when dealing over long distances?
Thanks,
Tom

I feel that I have to point out that the last air-cooled 3.6 came off the assembly line ~13yrs ago. When the swap was first done there was a plentiful supply of low milage engines available. That is no longer the case.

I'd look for a complete engine and harness, and plan on a rebuild as part of the process. Just be sure that the engine you purchase is priced accordingly. If you get lucky and find a gem then drink to your good fortune and proceed from there.
