Whale tail rubber repair

I have an early whale tail and the rubber is in good shape except for a number of what looks like pits in the surface. Any ideas on what to do to effect a repair?
Thanks

porschecar guy,

I am thinking maybe paint with the flex addaditive that would be used on plastic bumpers but I dont know for sure. I say that because in th 80's I had a Mitsubishi Starion with a rubber spolier that matched the paint on the car to a T it was paint of some sort that flexed and had a gloss. I would suggest posting in paint and body porsche962 the resident paint/body guru should be ble to tell you the best way to handle this and how to replicate the rubber look.

BeauBlues did a good writeup on fixing his tail -- may not answer your specific question, but it is worth a read:

Look what I did!!! The ultimate Whale Tail Rubber stud replacement.
