Question Front Bumper Strip

Second try at identifying this trim piece. The piece in question is the black and silver thing on the bumper. Is this "S" trim or something else? Also...where can I find a replacement?
Thanks

HawgRyder,
That trim is the Deco Trim - Wide that was applied to the S and optional on other cars. It is available as a set: Front bumper, Side Rockers and Rear bumpers from Pelican. I don't know if they are available individually.

Here's the link, you'll have to go to page 3 or click on the "Trim Kits" option in the menu.

I bought a set last year (still waiting to put it on).

Thanks Rick...you confirmed my worst fear.
I have to purchase the whole kit just to get the front piece. The bad thing is....I'm only missing about 2" of the black rubber part on the right side (curve) of the bumper.
And...my side trim is different...it's like an over-piece on the rocker panel...with a rubber insert that flows upwards into the body. It's in great shape, and I was going to re-use it.

HawgRyder,
That bumper trim problem appears to be a common one. I had the same problem. The multipiece nature of the assembly and shrinkage over time (hey it is 30+ years old) caused the pieces to separate and occasionally fall off (ouch).

There may be some guys/gals on the list who has an extra piece they can send you or sell you a decent front trim used.

Rick

If it's just the black rubber insert that you are looking for, the PN for the wide "S" trim is 901.505.405.51. If not available from PP, try Stoddard. Their price is $116.50.

Even at that price, I agree with Rick- better to look for used trim!

Good luck.

All good suggestions....and thanks for the part number.
I was also toying with the idea of filling in the gap with black silicon mixed with a binder we use in the movie industry.
It sets up looking like rubber, and if I cut a piece of plastic to the curve of the old piece, it might come out OK. Worth a try.

Wait, wait. If you only need the one piece, call Doc 'n' Cy's in Indianapolis. They'll sell the individual pieces.

But try calling Pelican first. They may sell the individual pieces to you in spite of what the website says.
