Fuchs 6" & 7" looks better than 7" & 9" on SC
Is it just me or does anybody else think that 6" Front & 7" Rear -Fuchs (16") looks better than 7" & 9" respectively? I've so desired replacing my rear 7" (running 225s) with 9" for so long on my SC, but when I placed the 7" on the front it just look odd, a bit like a Hotrod. I have an opportunity to buy a couple of 9" but now I'm having reservations. Thoughts everyone ????

Buy them anyway. 7and 9's is cool, you'll learn to love the look.
Keep the 6's stored. they're not worth that much so you might as well keep them.

IMHO given all that guard room it should be filled with rubber.

I would say both looks have their appeal, what will probably appeal to most is the opposite of what you have on your car
![]() 6/7 may have a little more classic sports/touring look. 7/8 or 7/9 more of a hot rod/athletic look. I like them both but would personally choose 7/8 as a favorite. I don't think you can fully judge the 7 on the front until you have the wider rears on the car.

Gregwils, well put - I think I like the filling out of the rear guards but I'm not crazy about the deeper dish, maybe I'll try spacers.

Well put Greg, I actually love both looks, that's why I have managed to own 5 sets of wheels for 1 car in varying sizes, styles and makes.

Being that tires on cars nowadays are much wider then sports cars of past, (I think my wifes minivan has wider tires then what came on my 911) I think getting the widest tires on a 911 create a more modern look. I just wish they made fuchs in 17 or 18" sizes for tire choices

I don't know. My car started with 6/7's. I just felt they looked a bit too narrow. Especially in the back.
![]() The 7/9's just seem to fill everything out better. And the view from the rear with the 245's on the 9's really looks cool. ![]() Just my opinion. I think the late 80's Carreras came with 6/8's. So maybe that's an option you want to look at if you don't like the 7's in the front.

While not the best common angles, you can get a good idea of the before and afters going from 6/7's to 8/9s. Also the car was lowered in the after shot.

theclaw - Very nice wheels. Nines are sweet with the deeper setback of the spokes. Perfect picture angle for appreciating this. I am not a super fan of the polished spokes but the black car and Carrera script really make them pop.
Tree reflection on hood and windshield looks cool as well. |

Bob,
Thanks. Not sure if I'm keeping the wheels polished. That's how I got them. It's between polished and RSR look. Just haven't gotten around to that project. Surprisingly, this was a quick "out of hybernation" shot I took the other week. Thought it turned out pretty cool.

I recently went from 6x7/16 to 7x8/16 and love the new look! They just fill the fender flares so much better. (Note: the back end of the car needs to be lowered...it's riding high after removing weight)

I have 7s and 9s.
BUT, I understand what you're saying, at least for the fronts. The 9s with 245/45 look absolutely perfect to me on the rears on an SC/Carrera. But the 7s with 205/55 on the front don't look "perfect" to me. Not horrible, but I wish they were offset towards the inside a half inch or so. They stick out a little to much on the front for my taste. Plus with standard alignment and a normal lowering, you usually have to roll/trim the lips. I ran 6 and 9 for a while, but that looked a little odd, too. Too much difference between front and rear. |

My vote would be 7" in front 9" in back! It is just a sharp look....

Hey Claw,
Nice ride, and I think RSR finish on your car would be perfect!

The 944 "951" 8" fuch handles the fit of a wider tire upfront with more offset to the inside much better then the 7". Fit this with a lower ratio 225/45 tire and you have all your fitment issues settled.
