9mm Triple Square
I am trying to change the Door Latch on my 911 SC. I bought a set of Triple Square 12 pt. bits. Set came with 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.
Well those don't fit. It is a 9 mm. Can anyone give me a good source for a 9mm 12pt. Triple Square bit. I have check all over the internet and all of the local hardware and auto parts stores. No 9m. I found one set at Amazon but it is a set of 9 pieces. Only need the 9mm. Don't really want to pay $36 plus shipping for one little bit.

wouldn't be 9mm. the "striker" on the b pillar would be 8mm. never seen any 12 point fasteners on the latch in the door....yet.

"Well those don't fit. It is a 9 mm."
That's beyond me, and surprising. Could they have been replaced somehow with non-OEM?? Edit: Just checked, 8mm triple-square for mine....I am assuming you do mean the striker plate on the body... Edit: Odd...your's isn't "stripped out" is it? I reckon that would be pretty obvious, but it would explain why 8mm won't bite... Last edited by nesslar; 05-10-2011 at 07:54 AM.. |

One bolt I was able to get with the 8mm the fit was loose but it worked. The other bolt the fit is to loose and would strip if I tried.
It is the striker plate I am removing. I could use a remover tool and replace it. It does not look stripped but the 8mm will not fit. |

You might try heating the heck out of the 8mm bit; maybe enough expansion will do the trick.
