New site member - new (old) car...

After engaging in a couple of post I understand the proper etiquette in joining the site is to share a picture of ones car... Well here it is. I just picked up this 81 SC. 58k miles. About 90's 17 in wheels, non- stock seats (have originals as well with the car) and non-stock steering wheel. AC is not hooked up and car has not had the tensioner upgrade.

I am surprised I haven't found this site before as I participate in a f couple others for daily driver and motorcycle. Glad to find the site and I look forward to the great advice that seems to exist here and to hopefully providing some info back to others.

Welcome! Almosty looks Ruby Red (it can fluctuate a great deal depending on the lighting), but that was not a standard color for an 81. At least you bought an SC! Have fun with her!

From Simon's SC site I would call it wine red metallic - L895. I think it is original. I wans't thrilled with the color at first but my wife likes it and it is growing on me.

That is funny, as I was the same about my Ruby Red cabriolet when I bought it. But I got a great deal at the time and it has since grown on me. I am amazed at the number of positive comments I get about it though.

Nice looking targa and welcome aboard. Are you going to hook up the ac? I know a lot of people end up leaving it off or removing due to the weight/result ratio,

58K miles!! What a score. Sure it isn't 158K??? If it's really 58K, you are a lucky guy. Welcome.

Regarding hooking up the a/c... not 100% sure yet but from what I can gleen from threads etc., it is not really worth the effort. I think the most important item to be addressed is the hydraulic tensioner update.
