Ode to the NGK plug...
I've been using the the NGK plug since the early 70s when I first started wrenching on bugs and Karmann Ghias. It continued into my passion for the 356, 914 and eventually 911s.
Since my divorce, I inheritted a 6.0L v8 Yukon. It's a tank. Four wheel steering, 3/4 ton, full sized 'Murican veehikle. All the maintenance was done was regular oil changes, tranny flush at 50K. Warranty covered the fuel pumps, the other stoopid nagging little screwups, and other little issues....heated seats took a dump, gauge pod had a stroke, radio ate the CDs.... Onliest out of pocket fail was the alternator.....98 bucks at Kragen and a 20 minute install. Took me longer to stand in line to buy it than the install. ANYWAYS......just pulled the NGK Iridium spark plugs. 100K on these things. ![]() The worst part of the install was the typical hassle on the r&r on the passenger side plug at the firewall. Had to cut an extension in half, lose 1/4 inch and weld it back together....got it done just in time to get both the truck and P-car under cover before the snow started..... ![]() NOW...is there an Iridium plug for my 3.6?
