Are Drop Link bushings replaceable?
Hi,
Are the drop link bushings themselves replaceable? Or should I just replace the entire pair. ('87) I didn't see / couldn't find replacement parts from our host, nor could I find a separate part in the PET. I ask because I thought I saw a thread regarding the removal of the bushings - but maybe it was for a different year. No probs now, just planning. Thanks

Pretty sure they are sealed in the housings... (someone correct me please if I'm wrong)
I replaced the entire drop-link (easy job).

Hey Dan,
If you had a press and proper ID/OD bushings, I see why not. You could also upgraded to a polymer unless you want to stay concours???

Definitely replaceable. I bought rubber ones (Weltmeister I think) but I couldn't get them in without a press. Rather than take them to a machine shop, it was easier for me to make replacements from Delrin since I have access to a lathe at work. I think I bought the rubber ones from our host.

I replaced these about 6-7 months ago, I did not fit under the car nor did I have ramps. I just put both sides on jack stands and replaced them, It wasn't too bad. These are the part #s

Thanks Charlie , but I thought I could just do the bushings. Is there a number available for them?
Jim, yeah, this is just for street, but poly doesn't matter if the price is right. The drop links themselves are 50/ea. I was planning to do the rear suspension, but I might drop the rear sway in order to tackle the tunnel fuel lines, and thought "while I was in there".

Well, if it is not a daily, why nut press or carefully cut them out and measure them???
Or at least measure them from the inside of the drop link and the sleeve.

Thanks Charlie & Jim.
I'm probably just going to buy the full assys I guess. I don't trust my fab skills, or should say, I don't know what the bushings look like (yet). This is just for planning for the winter already, but I might get impatient if I drop them for the fuel line sooner than later. Thanks for the help guys. I do appreciate it!

Honestly, if I was replacing them, I'd rather pay the $130 for the adjustable set that is available here vs. paying $100 for the two non-adjustable ones...

Drop links
I have an almost new set of Tarret engineering front drop links that I will sell for 100 bucks. They are adjustable and ran the whole setup on my 930.
