Technical, sales, etc. information for 74-76 Carreras

Hi all,

My interest has really been growing lately surrounding the '74-'76 Carreras, and I'm having a hard time finding a good source for information on them. I've found bits and pieces in the usual places, but was wondering if anyone knows of any websites, books, etc. that would fill in the gaps for me.

Interested in both U.S. and Euro spec information. By the way I omitted the '73s because there's *plenty* of info on those to be found!

Much appreciated,

Reid

There were several books that covered those years and models, probably long out of print
among them
'Porsche 911 Carrera Super Profile" by Chris Harvey
'Original 911' by Peter Morgan
and of course Frere's '911 Story'

Anderson has a lot of info in his books on the engines

since I've sold my 75 targa, I have available an original 1974 drivers manual, a factory 1975 sales brochure, and the (4546.21) 1976 911s factory service information manual - the 3 contain scads of details that you need; for sale at the swap meet literature values I paid for 'em, if you are serious - the driver manual is on eBay right now

Leffingwell's "Porsche Legends"(1993), "Porsche power performance and perfection by susan miller, 1992, and "Great Marques - Porsche", 1980, plus a Haynes "1965-1980 911 Repair Manual" still in shrinkwrap

There is some nice advertising literature on the samba.com site.

TheSamba.com :: VW Archives - Literature - Porsche

Don't let the 356 reference in the link put you off.

WOW - thanks everyone for the recommendations. I'm going to do some research (on research books? and go from there.

I forgot to mention in my post that am mainly interested in the 2.7s, but now that I think about it, I'm glad I did!

Cheers,

Reid
