OOPS....I did it again! Alternator connections!

well, finally got back to working on this alternator this week and what's left to do is wire up the connections...unfortunately, I didn't write them down before I took the wires off....

Terminals E and F I have figured out......but there are 2 wires left that must go on either A, B, C, or D.

Before I make the wrong connections and fry something, does anyone know how to rewire this thing?
The car is 1970 911T

Thanks a lot for your help!

The data in the CD-type disc decodes easily into ASCII computer text as follows, using 8 bit binary:
*
"Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES. Much PAIN but still time. (Damaged Word). There is GOOD out there. We OPpose DECEPTION. Conduit CLOSING (BELL SOUND)”
*
The damaged word would appear to be intended as “BELIEVE”.

Porsche Crest Alt Connections

You should have four wires:

DF (black) or "Dynamo Field" goes to tab "F" on brush holder

D+/61 (blue)- "Exciter" circuit from warning light- to "B"

B- (brown) "Ground"- goes to alternator case ground "E" or B- terminal

B+ (large red, or 2 large reds) "Hot" to terminal "C"

Run the wires through the air guide first. Good luck, stand back, watch for smoke with fire extinguisher at the ready (not kidding, I always do this particularly around high-wattage electrical connections)

Now as a musician, you should be shot for quoting Brittany Spears...? "Oops I did it again.." For shame!

Sorry emmanuel, couldn't resist...

John,

Thanks for the information. I wasn't expecting such a quick response. The fire extinguisher will be close by!

Chris,

LOL, , I'm not particularly a big Britney Spears fan (the singer OR the actress)...

however, "OOPS....I did it again" is a phrase I often mumble to myself when working on the p-car.
