PS: your car is the best backdate I have seen bar none!

But really, thanks bud, I appreciate it... can't wait to see the finished product! See you soon I hope :).

Uh-oh. This is fast becoming a steering wheel thread.

It's a very early prototipo — but it's not — there is no engraved name at the bottom of the center spoke. Could it be a prototype prototipo?

another one of those perfect executions of speed, style and taste applied to an early car that make it so much more than the sum of its parts.

bravo!

Mark Morrissey 11-27-2011 02:55 PM

Shaun, thanks very much for that. We've somehow missed crossing paths over the years. I sure hope to see you this year coming! :)

Vitamin P

Here's your daily dose of vitamin P. — Patina, that is. — :D And remember to drink at least 8 glasses of motor oil everyday.

The Abarth in my car is waaaaaay too nice, even though it's far from perfect. Mark, that wheel is the very definition of my car. Gorgeous! (at least to my eye) :)

Reiver 12-08-2011 03:05 PM

Man that is sweet. Great look. Would love to see it all 'lit up'...

Quickstep192 12-08-2011 03:56 PM

Very cool. You've got more in Cibie lights than i've got in my whole car! The artsy sunglass picture is waaaaay cool.

Gianpiero Moretti: 1944-2012

Earlier this week we lost a giant of the automotive/racing world. I'm still coming to terms with his passing. I had come so close to speaking with the guy -- it just gives me such sadness to realize it's over... finally over. This is my last tribute.

Where does one get a mirror like that? Unobtainium?

Mark Morrissey 01-24-2012 05:20 AM

Not unobtainium... Jim, I don't have the links right now but there is an alloy version that is nearly $300 ... mine is a fiberglass one that I found on ebay for a lot less.

That's a GREAT car... So many nice details. And yeah, lovely steering wheel... That patina on the leather looks really neat.

I found this post a couple months ago, and totally forgot about it. Glad you brought it back up. Good inspiration.
