Can't find part - AC Compressor Mounting Plate
Hey everyone,
I'm searching unsuccessfully for a part. In putting a set of Magnecor wires on my '88 911, I had to get the AC compressor up and out of the way to reach some wire holders. After everything was competed, I used a cheap torque wrench to tighted the AC Compressor back to the compressor mounting plate. Well, one of the bolts snapped right at the plate line. My choices are: 1) How in the world can I get the broken bolt out of the plate?.... 2) New compressor plate and be done with it. I'm leaning towards #2, but cannot find this part, nor a part number, anywhere. In Bentleys, a picture of this plate can be found on 870-4. It's pointed out where the white arrows are. I'm not even sure where to start. What a pain in the butt and a real bummer after a successful and needed plug/wire swap. Thanks! - Eric

Hello fellow Pittsburgher! My brother has an 87 that we completely removed the AC system including the mounting brackets. Although he would like to sell the entire system as a whole, he may sell the bracket individually. Hi email is herock@attglobal.net . Tell me more about your car. Mine is an 89 coupe and his is an 87 track car.

Hello!
It's nice to see someone local! I will get in contact with your brother today. That would be fantastic to pick up one locally. I just got my '88 this past November. '88 911 Carrera. F/R Spoilers. 90k miles. Black/Black. Exterior is in great shape. Engine has been pulling harder and harder after I've been going through some routine maintence items (plugs/wire, DME, fuel filter, oil, etc.) It's running great. ![]() I've got some big plans in the near future (new shocks, brake job, etc.), and am looking for a mentor to learn from/help.... and a great shop in the area to fall back on. Pix of the beauty at: http://www.owners-gallery.com/gallery.asp?sort=0&userid=542 Thanks again, - Eric

Isn't the mounting plate aluminum? If so, just take it to a welder that can weld aluminum and have it welded up. If you can't do that and can't work the deal on the mounting plate locally, call Parts Heaven. I'm sure they can hook you up with a used one. http://www.partsheaven.com/index_a.html

Kurt: Thanks for the tip on Parts Haven. I'll try them after this local source.
Matt: Thank you as well. I'll remember the offer. 89: That would be really great. Thanks! - Eric
