Center Cap Security Locks ?
Hi, has anyone a photo of the alloy wheel center cap locks offered by pelican ? See
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_miscel_pg7.htm It says "not for 3-pronged caps". How does it work ? I have 16" Fuchs with painted inner crest. Can I use them ? Thanks!

I have these. Basically, it is a ring that goes inside the ring of the hubcap. There are three allen bolts. When you tighten the allen bolts they screw into the cap which puts ALOT of pressure on the cap and where the cap and wheel seat, hence, "locking" them in place.
The downside is, the little punk who is trying to steal them will probably scribe his screwdriver into your alloy rims all along your cap. Actually, I am no longer running my locks. I had to keep taking the locks on and off when I had the tires replaced, and again when I had a flat tire. You will have to have the locks removed again whenever you get the tires balanced. ![]()

Robert--
they should work fine with 16 inch fuchs. I believe the 3-prong caps were used on the 15 inch wheels. As Nick said, they might be more trouble, but if theft is a concern, worth the peace of mind.

The 3-pronged center caps go on earlier Fuchs, usually the tube requiring species, and up to 6 inch wide.
If you have a 7 or 8X15 that requires a 3-pronged centered cap, mail me privately, we have to talk ![]() GeorgeK |
