New 911 owner

Wanted to formally say hi. Been on the 944 boards for awhile, but just picked up an 84 911 last week and want to show her off here. She is a bit more track oriented but so much fun on the street too. Wanted to say thanks to everyone here, what a great community with so much knowledge!

Already going through a brake caliper rebuild project in time for Watkins Glen DE at the end of the month. Looks like it was long overdue! Other than that the car runs like a top. One of the few 911's I have seen with a DRY motor that doesn't burn any oil! The 915 trans was just rebuilt by the previous owner with 3rd,4th, and 5th regeared with some closer ratio's. In 5th at 75mph its revving around 3500 on the highway. So excited to get this on the track and see what she can do. Not as fast as my old 88 944 Turbo S, but I bet she has better dance moves!

Here's a shot with my buddies 81 ROW

Good looking car(s) If it still has the stock chip in her, you may consider putting a Steve Wong chip to liven her up. The US 84' s came with I believe 207 hp but can be re-chipped for something like another 10....which is significant. Good luck with her

I'll have to check the DME when I pull the seat out to see if it has a chip or not. I'm not sure. It pulls noticeably better than my buddies 81 ROW which has the 220 rated 3.0 in it. No airbox, just a K&N conical filter on the AFM.The car does have the B&B headers with air boxes and B&B 2 in 2 out muffler. Although, I still think I like the rawness of my buddies bypass pipe, although it does get a bit loud

Good looking car. Welcome to the air-cooled world. Looks like a blast to drive. Any problems with the lowered ride height?

Man that car is LOW!

I have trouble getting in and out of most driveways with mine at Euro height. You must scrape the front all the time.

Welcome to the air cooled world!

Funny, the second pic looks like your car is sitting a bit higher up front. 'Buddies' car looks too low to me, in front at least; not good rake (just my $.03). Nice pic, that 2nd one.

No, I haven't scraped on anything yet. Bottom out once on what looked like an innocent little dip. My buddies 81 with the RS front bumper, does scrape quite a bit.

As for the Fuch's, I'm actually not sure what they are off of, or if they were original to the car. Car is running 245's out back, and 225's in the front. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, have quite a bit of grip and not scary at all in the rain, surprisingly. Most people look at them and say, oh your gonna need front tires, till I tell them they only have 2k miles on them.
