Question Finally getting my little 911 back together, but need qwik help to ID wires

Hey everyone, After almost coming to the end of doing all the stuff i've been working on with the car I decided to remove the rear FG bumper, wash it real good with some soap and water, center my license plate since it was a bit off, Wash and wipe down with brake cleaner everything I could reach under the rear of the car (4 cans later!) and fiberglas in the mesh vents for good, and while I was at it wanted to rewire my LED license plate light with better wires and heat shrink tubing. Well so I noticed the last time i did the plate lights I actually ran wires to the original left and right license plate light wires from the LED light. Now I'm a bit smarter these days and figured I only need to run the wire to the parking light on one side. So now is t okay to just cap them both off?
they are just the light wires that went to the big bumperette plate lights on my original SC bumper.

Ok, heading to auto parts store. Is it ok to cap off the live wire, how best to do it? Just snip and wire nut?

I usually cut them clean, put a quick wrap of tape around the end and heat shrink so the shrink extends beyond the end a little bit.
