No Electrical

I have a problem with starting and all the electrical parts...nothing works. It was running two days ago but now nothing... no starter or any electrical item works. The only response when starting is the fuel sending unit moves off of zero along with the oil pressure switch. Nothing else indicates the ignition switch has been turned.
The battery is fine just charged up with trickle charger, 6 months old
The battery connections are good so are the fuses.
I replaced the Motronic chip several months ago but everything ran after that.
I just replaced the O2 sensor before the problem came up.
I checked to see if anything was knocked lose but saw nothing wrong.

What could cut off all power to the engine?

Alternator connection? I would recheck the battery cables especially the ground cable at both ends of it. If you are certain the battery is good under a load test.

+1, check the negative connection on battery. While you are at it double check the voltage at the posts with a DVM.

I just re read your post, there is a multi-pin connector by the 02 sensor plug that may have been jarred loose, if it is on an air cooled 911

The +battery cable is old but no corrosion and tight. There are several additional wires on the + side but they look good...I will clean them to be sure.

Can this be the ignition switch that is not allowing any power to any electrical part? The radio should work with the ignition off. The light for the front hood usually lights when I open the hood but there is no light. It seems nothing is getting from the battery to the electrical circuit. I checked the connections to the plugs on the left side of the engine but would this remove all power to the entire circuit? There is not one problem there in no current...even though the battery is fine.

If there is no reading, you have an open negative cable to the chassis ground connection located on the driver's side luggage compartment. (bentley 270-3).

Then, with the battery cables still disconnected, place the + probe on the positive battery cable, and the negative on the top of fuse #2.

If you have continuity, then, reconnect the battery cables.

If there is no reading, you have:

An open 12v cable.

Good luck,
