If you are thinking about installing RS panels...read this
Well I am in from my garage trying to install the RS panels from Original Fit Interiors...
Let me say this... make them your self or find some place else... The materials are sub par (except the plastic trim pieces) the drill holes are ambiguous there are no instructions (it is somewhat easy to figure out...but still) the plastic clips they provide will undoubtedly break....and if you ever plan to take your door panels out they will undoubtedly break I will post a full write up for the tech article site...and maybe write some tips on how to make them...very disappointed... but for the brief moment I had one of the panels on it looks pretty cool... stay tuned |

Thanks for the heads up MJ. Those are on my wish list. Now I'm thinking about building tham myself like Davis did.

I put those door panels on my 72. It is not rocket scientist stuff and you might be able to make a set for less than what they charge. You would need to go to the dealer for the handle and misc. pieces. I have no regrets and I am happy with mine. The backing they provide is better than Porsches cardboard and should last longer.

Hey MJ,
I to have the same door panel's and yes your right .. they were abit of a disapointment.... some of the hole 's didn't line up great and I really have to wonder if the door handle will hold up to daily use? it doesn't seem to me that it mates up tight. to th door it's self...... yes your right the panel clip's WILL snap if you try to remove them I had to use the original off the other panels due to the ones they sent me breaking.. I have to finish the job today as i only got one on yesterday due to lack of light. I hope this one goes on easier than the pass side did yesterday... but yes i feel you pain . ![]() ![]() ![]() |
