How to Clean Up Around Injectors?
I suspect air leaks around the injectors. So I ordered the new O rings. What would be a good safe way to clean the dirt, etc around the injectors before pulling them out? I don't want that stuff to fall in there. It's not much, but just being careful. I have a compressor, so I could just use air, or a pressure washer, but that might be too extreme.. Or I might use WD40 and paper towels? Just thinking out loud here,
thanks if any ideas.

I got these long q-tips that some modelers use - cotton swabs on wood - wet the ends in carb cleaner and went around the recess. Of course I was careful and lucky they didn't fall in, and they were long enough to fish out if they did drop. The other trick was to try to not break them (the wood was a bit brittle).
Let it dry thoroughly.

i would just douse it with engine cleaner then power wash (or use the hose). i do my motor that way every so often anyway.
just do it the day before so it can dry.

I like this Pneumatic Spray Cleaning Wand for cleaning. It is about $10 at many places (got mine at Northern Tool). The amount of cleaning solution and air is adjustable for those sensitive areas (on your car), then you turn off the liquid and dry with the air. Of course you need a compressor, but it is great for getting into those nooks & crannies. I find it almost as good as a presure washer but with much less run-off. Actually its surprizing how little run-off for the amount of cleaning it does. For small areas I just throw down a towel in the garage to soak up the little run-off.
