This "valve" tap is odd. It can't be a valve I think now. It's not the distributor as previously thought...I adjusted all valves..they're fine.
Here's what I noticed, when I decelerate in-gear, it doesn't tap. So, when the crank/cams and drive train are still turning but I'm not accelerating or idling the tap goes away... When it gets to 1000 or so where my idle kicks in, then it starts up. This excludes valves and distributor (Now I don't think it's coming from the distributor). Does anyone have any idea now about this? It came after installing injectors, but when I unplug the injectors, it doesn't go away, so I don't think it's an odd injector firing... any help appreciated, sorry for belaboring the issure. ------------------ Kurt B 1984 Carrera Cabriolet 911 Page carrera_cabriolet@yahoo.com |

Well, I'm certainly no authority but in the way of suggestions here's one. Sometimes bad exhaust gaskets can make a sound very similar to a valve tap. especially gaskets on flange connections like between the header and the cat. Only an idea good luck
