How do I install the 993 rear view mirror?

I finally got he 993 windshield in my 89 3.2 Carrera. Wow is it great, I new my old windshield was pitted/sand blasted from 22 years of driving but looking through the new glass makes me glad I bit the bullet and did this.
Like most Porsche projects it wasn't cheap. $1050 for the 993 windshield (could find no after market glass with the molding around the outside to hold the outer trim), $50 for the two gaskets from our host and $175 for Speedy Glass in Concord, CA to install. Even the Porsche dealers glass guy wouldn't do it.
I decided to install the 993 rear view mirror because I couldn't get the button that is glued onto the windshield off. SO... What is the trick to installing the mirror? turn at 45 degrees and push up or down while pushing in? The button on the windshield is 6 sided and one side is a little more "narrow" than the other two. Better to ask then break the mirror. I did search the 993 forum and this forum but found nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Bump, Someone must know how to install a the 993 mirror on the windshield hex shaped button. I know it's got to be something like "place at "x" angle, push and twists CCW or CW. I don't want to break a brand new mirror.
Thanks,

Thanks,
measuring on the outside, the base goes 597mm from the drivers side inner edge of the trim. 145mm down from top inner edge of trim

wait 24hrs for glue to fully cure

there is a special tool 9578 which is just pliers w/ a round cushioned griping face

sitting in the front seat of your choice, the mirror is twisted 90*, ccw to loosen, clockwise to tighten.

Thanks Bill,
I didn't have to glue the mount on because it comes with the windshield. By placing the mirror 90 degrees from desired final position pushing in and turning clockwise as you noted, it locked into place.
Thanks again!
