Yes or No to Gravel Guards? What do you think?

1. Should I add gravel guards? The original car had them. Do you think the car looks better with or without them?

2. This is the correct part #, right?

I like it on mine, but I'm a bit biased:

I liked them on mine but when I started looking for pictures I started to notice a lot of 911's with no gravel guards. I'm leaning towards them because I think the black guards look good on white, red and in my case gold 911's.

Does Pelican sell these magnet stone guards? Can you provide a link or info on where you can purchase them?

I like them on the white and red cars. Just my opinion.

I like the magnet idea. I haven't seen those available but makes it an easy "try and see"

I must admit, I think the guards look like they belong on some cars, however, I don't think I'd ever put them on my car for the aesthetic appeal. I've not seen a car without them and thought they needed them. Really, unless you have issues with sandblasting your flares, it seems goofy to me.

Here are some pictures of my car without the guards. I was actually starting to like the look but my family pressured me into putting them on and I had already purchased them

I thought I had a picture after they were installed, guess not. I'll take one tomorrow and post it for comparison.

I usually like the clear look on sc/carrera flares, I like both clear and black on turbo cars.

I definitely like the shark fins (of course, I also like the double D, US rear bumperetts) on the 80's models - I think they look very period correct!

I can go either way with them on 930 bodies. I feel the same about the bumperettes. It "should" look better without them, but it doesn't. Somehow they look "right"

Magnetic would be the way to go

I'd also like to add that last weekend I used a stiff brush and some soap to "deep clean" my guards and it made a world of difference. No more blotchyness. Just deep black. I went around the edges too and cleaned out the built up gunk (old wax, adhesive and dirt?) And it makes the car look much more fresh

The magnetic guards are fine. I used to have some on Mama's mini. Until she lost the second pair at the car wash.

l have the 3m clearbra fitted to mine you don't even know it's there, also comes with a 10yr warranty. The front bumper is fully covered, a 6inch strip on the hood and along the sides to just above the Porsche logo, also over the rear guards and a little on the back.Cost me $1200 fitted but money well spent, as where l live the roads are sh#thouse.

I just had paintwork done on the driver's side and because prior to that it was kinda blasted from road debris, I elected to get some done up by a local sign cutter. In clear. Can't even tell they're there to look at 'em.

However, the black ones do seem to work well on 930s. They don't seem out of place, at all.

I just ordered a set from Dan at Magnagrafik. MagnaGrafik Home - Porsche Graphics, Magnetic Decals for Porsche, Magnetic Hood Stripes, Magnetic Stone Guards, Carbon Fiber Graphics, Vinyl Graphics, Porsche 911 Carrera Boxster Cayman Turbo Decals, Martini Racing Stripes, 911 914 930 935 944 964 96 The reason I went with Magnagrafik is because their non-turbo body guards are a bit larger than the oem guards. The oem guards are somewhat narrow. Magnagrafik's guards look more like a turbo guard but they are cut to fit the narrow body carerra/sc.
