Question Dumb Question - New Hood Shock Clip

I know this is bad... but what is the correct way to install the new style hood shock pin clips? The car came without hood shocks and I am installing new ones. Does anyone happen to have a pic? Does the new style clip just snap over the pin where the old style wire clip would go through? Or does it go over the flange in the body and hold the head of the pin? The parts diagrams do not really show it.

Thanks Draco. So it just clips on the tail end of the pin, not the body flange.

I know I did. Dropped it, lost it, gave up and said screw it. Pin has been in place without the clip ever since.

Plus, what I do, especially when working on the clip in the engine cover shock, is tie a long piece of string to the clip so that when I drop it, which I inevitably do, I can retrieve it. Same deal with the pin.
