Hood Release Cable
Has anybody bought one of these lately, for an '86-89? - Hood Release Cable
I need to know whether or not the cable comes with the exterior sheath. That is, the black rubber-coated giant piano wire that the hood cable rides inside of. I believe it's called a Bowden cable. I know that for some years, the cable does not include the piano wire sheath. Can anyone confirm whether this part will come with it if I order it? Thx. |

The one for my 1973 did not. I wish I had known before I ordered it.

If you can wait, why not call PP in the AM?
OT: I admire Wayne on his work and family ethic not to open after hours or weekends. But sometimes I wish they were open for us weekend wrenches. :-) But don't change Wayne, I would hate for you to sell out to a Chevy aftermarket distributor :-( or to India for that matter? I'd never call.

Broken Bonnet Cable.
After reviewing a few "intense" posts.
I intend to install a backup release cable, and route it out under the front bumper. ![]()

Yep, I will. But the phone jockeys usually don't know what's in a box or a bag unless they've had to research the particular part before. I've asked about parts more than once and been given incorrect answers. I was hoping someone here has actually bought one and can tell me with certainty exactly what I'm gonna get.

I have not ordered or replaced the specific cable in question but I've done the rear and ordered it from Pelican. The cable I received did not have the black plastic sheath, which was O.K. for my application, as I was just replacing the cable itself. I do remember that there were options to have with or without handle attached.
For most of my questions relating to PP and their website, I simple send an e-mail and someone responds almost immediately with the questions answered.
