Question about box in engine compartment 1979 sc
Can anyone tell me what the box is just behind the oil filler? There are two hoses going out the back but nothing going into the front?

That is the carbon canister used to collect fuel vapor after the engine has stopped and feed back into the intake manifold when the engine restarts.

Nope. I would imagine the charcoal gets saturated/wears out after awhile, but not sure what you can do about that.
