Gemballa 930

Now that I have been schooled in removing things from the 911 to maker it lighter/faster,I look at this and think,it has to be slow...........If I bought it,I would have to put SCARFACE on a front mounted euro tag...

I do like a variety of 911s, but Gemballa is a bit too much for even me. What I like about my Strosek is the fact the car is actually made lighter with the fiberglass body parts. Other than the headlights, which have grown on me, my car looks like a wide bodied 911.

I like it. It is period correct. Appropriate to the ethos. Necessary to understand the era. Some of the most iconic chairs from the 1950s-60s were not comfortable to sit in. Form does not have to follow function -- when form is the function. View it as not a way to go fast around a track or up a hill like other 911s, but instead as a way to attract hookers.

Well said..

Ahhh the era.. the "go-go 80's" these car were uber expensive when new. They were the Porsche answer to the Ferrais and Mercedes done by Konig. Oh, and its probably not slow.

Not my cup of tea , but in an extreme way an interesting car to say the least. And as intheshop stated. A great way to attract hookers. Just ask Sir Mix-a-Lot .....he rolled a cab (amongst many other exotics).

And even though I very seldom listen to rap (or ever have) . Believe it or not , i'm a fan of Mix.

I saw that car in person this morning.

Certainly is "interesting!" And very '80s.

One thing that helps it is that it is a very small car, at least by modern standards.

The paint job doesn't seem great on it. They didn't pull off even the basic trim when it was last repainted, and you can see overspray on a lot of parts.

Gemballa is the automotive equivalent to the amplifier with a volume control that goes to eleven.

As far as being slow some were not...as RUF was instrumental in constructing the power plant for Gemballa.

It's missing the gold BBS wheels, the Radio Shack 5 inch in dash color TV and coke tray.

Many of those cars had RUF engines. A guy here in town has a white Gemballa cab. and the engine is RUF.

I never really was crazy about them either but is still nice to see the craftsmanship that went into these cars.
