911sc. Front suspension. Original or crashed?
Dear all,
I ve checked a 911sc for buying and I noticed something in the front suspension fixations that worried me. Are these fixations in original condition or have they been repaired after a crash? I appreciate your opinions and knowledge. regards ![]() ![]() ![]()

Normal. Looks like they have never been touched, actually.

The tar is there to keep moisture from getting into the luggage compartment.

Yep - that stuff is factory. You can find a bit of information on it by searching this forum.
There's obviously been some sort of alignment work or maybe shock replacement in the past given the plates have been repositioned. Would be normal for a car of this era. Variations in paint/stone guard finish or non factory looking welds would normally give away previous crash repairs.

Thanks for the answers.
I though that being the suspension out of the hole it was not a good sign. So this condition doesnīt mean something is wrong with suspension, isnīt it? regards |

Like the others said, it's fine
That's the way Porsche built it.

The three bolts on the outside hold a cup inside the wheel well. The shock bolts to the top of this cup. When you loosen those three bolts, you can adjust camber and caster on the front wheels.
