Spark Plug Wire Set?
Thinking about replacing mine, any suggestions?
Thanks! Rod |
There are many choices but I settled with Magnecors. The claim is that they're of the highest quality and can withstand more extreme temperatures.....they've worked well for me. The OEM Beru's are completely "plug and play" and the others are a little more work to install. Cheers

I did the same - Magnecor (blue), I forget if the diameter was 8mm. You can check here too, as this question comes up once in a while.

+1 Magnacors (red) but use the Beru dust guard they are made better for the heat. just use some di-electric grease and slip them on.
|
I used Magnecors to replace my OEM Berus. Cleaned up a lot of running problems. They work and they are a reasonably priced product.

I have the 10mm red magnecores, but wanted blue wires and decided to see if the blue wires I bought from paragon would work. They cost 65 bucks and I can't tell the difference between them and the magnecores. Granted, I have not sprayed water on them to see if they will arc, but since I wanted blue wires to match my car, they seeem to work great. Only time will tell and i'll keep the 10's just in case.

+1 on the Magnecors. I purchased them from our host and have been running them for 2 years with good performance on the street and track.
|
Very happy with my Magnecors, also. Wish they weren't red though.

I'm running magnacor wires. Love them.
I especially love the way the spark plug ends are made, it's a secure, sealed, well built unit. I expect them to last a long time. Haven't regretted the money spent. Good investment. -Dan |
How much work involved to get them to fit properly?
I really want somehting that is more plug and play ready, and in a perfect world Red in color to match the car. Rod |
Rod, I went with the red Clewetts about three years now and never had a problem, great fit and great quality. I had to drill out the wire holders to keep the custom look and fit but that was simple, alot cheaper and better looking than Beru.

Or, you could go with these:
Pelican Parts - Product Information: 10-8533-606-M47 Guess what - they fit perfectly and the people that designed and built your car think they are the best wires. ;) You really can't go wrong either way - I just wanted and easy fit so I could do the work myself. Ray |
If you want plug and play, the Beru's are it. They come with all the brackets in place, (no drilling of plastic to accommodate larger wires, and no additional "spreaders" to keep everything orderly (like you have to do with the Magnecors, the Mags are way thicker than OEM) The Mags do come across as very robust and are available in red, doubt if the Beru's come in anything but basic black. Cheers

Magnecors (ya have to drill out the "ribs" on the stock holders to make 'em fit - no biggie). Had 'em for years, no problems. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1316528997.jpg |
