Ignition switch location

Has anyone ever mored the ingnition switch from the left side or the wheel to the right side. The right hand drive cars have the ignition switch to the left of the wheel. There is a circle molded into the dash that looks like a great place for the swicth. I know it is picky, but all my other guys have the switch on the right side.

I believe there is more to moving it than just relocating the switch itself. The switch is attached to the steering column lock piece. While anything is possible, I think it would be more work than it would be worth.

Besides, the key location is iconic and I'm pretty sure moving it would be akin to blasphemy.

According to one of our Porsche promotional/documentary videos, the ignition switch is located on the left side of the steering wheel (RHD or LHD), to save 1/2 sec startup during racing events.
